Frequently Asked Questions:

We are looking to buy a cricket scoreboard but we are not sure what's available?
Buying an electronic cricket scoreboard can cost thousands of pounds and is a big investment for any size of club. Because of this type of investment, you need to ensure that you are buying what's best for your club after assessing all the available options and configurations. Click Here to learn more about equipment types.

Areas that need to be considered before purchase are:

  • The different types of electro-mechanical digits available from different manufacturers.
  • What type and size of digit is best suited for your ground.
  • There are a number of different control units and a multitude of configurations for consideration.
  • Types of scoreboard fascia available and what's the best option for your club.
  • For portable or standalone units you can choose from a number of construction materials.
  • Different types of polycarbonate coverings available such as 'Clear', 'UV Stabilised', 'UV protected' with the option of an 'Antiglare Coating'.
  • What power configurations are available for you to choose from.

Are your Basketball Scoreboards FIBA approved? - We are able to supply a range of FIBA approved scoreboards. Not all the range we supply are FIBA approved and so you should ensure that this is requested upon placing you order.

I am not sure what type of display I need, either Flip Dot, LED or Seven Segment display?
This will vary depending upon the application and environment in which it will be used. However we have a section that offers suggestions on the types we recommend. (Click Here)

We already have a cricket scoreboard on our ground. Can you fit your electronic scoreboard into it?
Yes, as part of our service of supplying electronic scoreboards, we can use your existing scoreboard layout and adapt any apertures to fit the electronic modules. Alternatively, we can fully replace an existing fascia, by constructing a new one and transporting and fitting it, including electronics, into your existing scoreboard.

How much warranty are the scoreboards supplied with?
The Scoreboards come with 12 months Return to UK Scoreboard Systems as standard. You also have the option to extend the contract for either 2 or 3 years and include an on-site service.

Do you deliver and install your scoreboards throughout the UK?
Yes, we cover England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Whilst working on our premises are you insured for any damage you incur to our property?
Yes, as a business we have comprehensive public liability cover subject to terms and conditions. (Details are available upon request)

Our club members would prefer a scoreboard that uses a hard wired control unit.
No problem. You have the option to specify either wireless or hard wired control units. The Digital Information Boards are controlled via either a laptop or a desktop computer and not by control units.

Can we use an LED scoreboard outdoors?
We recommend that if you require the scoreboard for outdoor use, that you first consider the Seven Segment or Flip Dot display scoreboard because of the light reflective properties of the digits and wide viewing angles. However, we also can supply LED scoreboards for outdoor use that use high brightness LED's, but this will not give the wide viewing angles that are available with the seven segment displays or flip dot display units and bright daylight conditions could affect the visibility.

Do the scoreboards require a mains power supply?
Seven segment display scoreboards can run from either a 12volt battery or 240v mains power. However the LED displays do require a 240volts main power supply.

Over what distance is it possible to operate the scoreboard?
Our outdoor scoreboard operate between 100 and 200 metres range depending on the model. Some of the indoor scoreboards use IR (Infra-Red) and wireless communication and so the range can differ quite significantly, please check the specification for the particular model. (Subject to conditions)

How well protected are the scoreboards against damage?
The seven segment scoreboards are supplied in an aluminium case with a vandal proof polycarbonate cover to protect the electronics against vandalism. The indoor multisport LED systems come supplied with shock proof fascias.

What are the service intervals for the scoreboards?
No real servicing is required with the scoreboard. However if you prefer we can service your scoreboards every 12 months. This will depend upon the usage of the system.

What options are available for mounting the scoreboards?
There are 4 options available depending on the display type and model chosen:

1. Wall mounted.
2. Portable with removable legs or support system.
3. Fitted into existing scoreboard apertures.
4. Custom manufactured support structure for the scoreboards.

Indoor LED scoreboards are designed to be wall mounted.
